Onolatry

Onolatry (ass-worship) was attributed by Roman writers to the Jews and later to the Christians. The famous caricature of the Palatine represents a Christian worshiping a crucified figure with the head of an ass. There are other representations of the early centuries. In the Catacombs there is a fresco in which the ass represents Satan or heresy .
