Capellino, Giovanni Domenico a Genoese painter, was born in the year 1580, and studied under Paggi. His best works are The Death of St. Francis, in San Niccolo, at Genoa, and his St. Francescai Romana, in San Stefano. He died in the year 1651. Capelli, Giovanni Maria abbot, an Italian canon and composer, was born at Parma. In 1690 he was appointed canon of the cathedral of his native city, and afterwards was chosen composer at the court of the grand-duke Ranuco II. He wrote a great deal for the theatre.
