(Heb. Paltiel’, , deliverance of God; Sept. ), son of Azzan, and chief man of the tribe of Issachar, one of those appointed to divide the Promised Land among the tribes on their entrance into it (Num 34:26). B.C. 1618. SEE PHALTIEL, which in the Hebrew is the same form.
