Publius Licinius Egnatius Gallienus
(c.218 -268 ) Roman emperor, died Milan. On succeeding his father, Valerian, Gallienus put an end to the persecution of the Christians , begun in 257 . He was assassinated at Milan, while besieging Aureolus, whom the troops in Italy had proclaimed imperator.
