The three laws in reasoning and argumentation, namely, that “there must be a basis or foundation” which can be “found in a study of the experiences of the wisest men of the past,” that “there must be a general survey” by “examining (its compatibility with) the facts of the actual experience of the people,” and that “there must be practical application” by “putting it into law and governmental policies, and see whether or not it is conducive to the welfare of the state and of the people.” (Mo Tzu, between 500 and 396 B.C.) — W.T.C.
