Xaver Ehbenbert Friedel

Jesuit missionary and cartographer , born Linz, Austria , 1673 ; died Peking, China , 1743 . With Fathers Regis, Jartoux, and others, he made a cartographical survey of China , traversing the whole empire from south to north, 1708 -1718 .
