(“shady”.) “Black forest,” a wooded hill near Shechem, from which Abimelech brought boughs to burn the tower of the city (Jdg 9:48). (See SALMON). Dalmanutha is thought a corruption of Zalmon.

Place near Shechem from whence Abimelech brought boughs of trees with which he destroyed the Shechemites by fire. Jdg 9:48. Not identified. The Hebrew is the same as SALMON in Psa 68:14.
