(Heb., Anan’, , cloud; Sept. v. r. , one of the chief Israelites that sealed the sacred covenant on the return from Babylon (Neh 10:26), B.C. cir. 410.

In the apocryphal list of the temple-servants, whose descendants returned from the captivity, the same name () occurs (1Es 5:30) in place of the HANAN SEE HANAN (q.v.) of the genuine text (Ezr 2:46).
