Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Series of islands in the West Indies. Parliamentary democracy and member of the British Commonwealth. Christianity was introduced into Saint Vincent by the Spanish discoverers, and missions were established by the Dominicans and other religious until the British occupation, when they were replaced by secular clergy. Approximately 13% of the current population is Roman Catholic. Ecclesiastically the country is governed by the diocese of Kingstown. See also
