152. Christ’s Fascination

What Christ was to the Apostle Paul is seen in Philippians 3, in the relative expressions that are found in connection with the names of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1. The Sphere of Joy. “Rejoice in the Lord” (Php_3:1).

2. The Object of Glory. “Glory in Christ Jesus” (Php_3:3, R.V.).

3. The Supreme Attraction. “Counted loss for Christ” (Php_3:7).

4. The Super-Knowledge. “The knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord” (Php_3:8).

5. The Greatest Gain. “That I may win Christ” (Php_3:8).

6. The Perfect Righteousness. “Righteousness… through the faith of Christ” (Php_3:9).

7. The Desired Attainment. “That I may apprehend that which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus” (Php_3:12).

8. The Highest Prize. “The prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Php_3:14).

9. The Wonderful Outlook. “We look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Php_3:20).
