Rebekah Was Richly Rewarded

"And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.

"And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done" (Gen_24:64, Gen_24:66).

How happy the winsome Rebekah, when she at last had covered the dreary sands and at last had reached her future home. Isaac too, was happy. He had been on the outlook for the coming of his bride and her coming had not escaped his eye.

As Eliezer recounted to Isaac the whole story of his trip, going into detail as to how the Lord had led him all the way, Isaac must have been strangely moved.

Soon the marriage bells were rung and the happy pair became one in heart and life.

The rich reward–the far-reaching blessing of that marriage–is before our very eyes, in this the nearly fortieth century since that marriage took place.

Indeed, Rebekah became not only the mother of thousands of millions, but she became the mother of our Lord. For her journey across the sands and her marriage to Isaac placed her in the line of the lineage of our Lord.
