Rebekah–A Dispensational Study
Dispensational teachings are not mere illusive suggestions, mere accidental analogies. Christ is seen everywhere in the Old Testament. He is its central figure. God spoke to us in the Prophets as well as by the Prophets; He spoke to us in their lives and deeds, as well as by their words and writings.
Not, that the Old Testament saints were holy, as Christ was holy–not that. But this is true that in their lives as well as by their words, God set forth many details of our Lord’s life, death, resurrection, second coming and reign.
Thus, nearly all of the Old Testament’s striking characters unmistakably foreshadow Christ. The things that happened unto them were types unto us, and are written for our admonition upon whom the end of the ages are come.
The types of this present lesson may be summed up as follows: Abraham, was the type of the Father; Isaac, the type of the Son; Eliezer, the type of the Holy Spirit; and Rebekah, the type of the Church.
