185. Christ’s Scars

We shall recognise Christ by the scars of Calvary. How much those scars proclaim! They at least reveal a sevenfold colour of grace and love. They proclaim—

1. The satisfaction of atonement for sin—Rom_3:25.

2. The price of emancipating redemption—Eph_1:7.

3. The ground of Divine forgiveness—Col_1:14.

4. The assurance of eternal peace—Col_1:20.

5. The overthrow of Hell’s authority—Heb_2:14.

6. The basis of all blessing for spirit, soul, and body—Heb_13:12, Heb_13:20.

7. The harbinger of coming glory—1Th_4:14.
