189. Christ’s Words

Our Lord emphasises the importance and influence of “words.” His words are:

1. God-given in their origin—Joh_17:8.

2. Life-giving in their nature—Joh_6:63, Joh_6:69.

3. Faith-producing in their influence—Joh_8:30.

4. Prayer-inspiring in their working—Joh_15:7.

5. Peace-assuring in their benediction—Luk_24:36-44.

6. Soul-sustaining in their intercession—Joh_18:1.

7. Wonder-begetting in their ministry—Luk_4:22; Luk_24:8.
