196. Christ’s Steadfastness

There were many things which might have daunted Christ. Think of—

1. The denial of Peter—Luk_22:61.

2. The Betrayal of Judas—Mar_14:43-46.

3. The forsaking of His friends—Mar_14:50,

4. The agony of Gethsemane—Luk_22:44.

5. The suffering of Gabbatha—Joh_19:1-6.

6. The forsaking by God—Mat_27:45, Mat_27:46.

7. The piercing of the Cross—Joh_19:16-18.

8. The sin He was to be made—2Co_5:21.

9. The curse of a broken law He would endure—Gal_3:13.

10. The judgment He would bear—Rom_8:3.

11. The wrath through which He would pass—Rom_8:32-34.

12. The life He would lose—Joh_12:24-33.

13. The shame He would suffer—Heb_12:2.

14. The death He would die—1Pe_3:18.
