203. Christ, the Object of Wonder

There were many things in Christ which excited admiration and wonder.

1. His words of grace. “Wondered at His gracious words” (Luk_4:22).

2. His works of power. “The multitude wondered when they saw,” etc. (Mat_15:31).

3. His way of silence. “The governor marvelled” (Mat_27:14).

4. His will of might. The disciples “marvelled” when they saw Him still the tempest—Mat_8:27.

5. His word of pardon. “The multitude” “marvelled” when they “saw” what He did for the palsied man—Mat_9:8.

6. His word of authority. “Amazed at the mighty power of God and wondered” (Luk_9:43).

7. His wondrous Person. The disciples “wondered” when the saw Christ—Luk_24:41.
