213. Christ, the Teacher

As the gardener trains the rose tree to climb in the direction, so Christ teaches the mind to think the things of God. Some of the great things that Christ taught were—

1. The evil of sin—Joh_3:19.

2. The necessity of the new birth—Joh_3:3.

3. The requirement of His death to answer for sin—Joh_3:14.

4. The love of God in the gift of Himself—Joh_3:16.

5. The possession of eternal life through faith in Himself—Joh_3:36.

6. The proof of discipleship—Joh_8:31.

7. The secret of fruit-bearing—Joh_15:5.
