0257. Daniel's Unwavering Trust
Daniel’s Unwavering Trust
"Then said Daniel to Melzar * * Prove thy servants I beseech thee, ten days * * then let our countenances be looked upon before thee" (Dan_1:11-13).
Daniel was willing to leave the results of his "sobriety" and faithfulness with God. He knew Whom he had believed. He knew that if he followed the Lord, the Lord would take care of the consequences.
Certainly, results are no affairs of ours anyway. It is ours to stand true; it is ours to obey orders; it is ours to fulfil every word of our God. It is God’s to manage the consequences; it is God’s to see to it that we suffer no loss; it is God’s to work out the results.
"Ours not to reason why,
Ours, but to do, or die."
We are serving a faithful God. He will never leave us nor forsake us. "God is faithful by Whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." The word "fellowship" carries with it the thought of "partnership." "We are workers together with God." He calls upon us to be true, to stand with Him undauntingly and unflinchingly; then He will manage our affairs for us.
No man ever lost out by standing true to God’s commands. No man ever lost out who trusted God.
"The Lord is my Keeper by night and by day,
He guards me from stumbling, each step of the way:
His strong arm beneath me, His presence so near,
My soul is delivered from doubt and from fear."
