0275. FAITHFULNESS.

FAITHFULNESS.

"Thou hast kept My Word, and hast not denied My Name" (Rev_3:8).

I. The Word to be Kept. Word of Jesus, Word of God (Joh_17:8).

II. How to Keep It. Hide it in the heart (Psa_119:11).

III. The Name. The Name above every name.

1. What it Means. Saviour (Mat_1:21). Emmanuel, God with us.

2. How it may be Denied. (1) By faithless silence. (2) By practical unbelief. (3) By a hasty temper. (4) By a grumbling disposition. (5) By a worldly life. (6) By a fruitless testimony. Those who keep His Word will not deny His Name.
