0351. THE FUTURE JOY OF JESUS.

0351. THE FUTURE JOY OF JESUS.

THE FUTURE JOY OF JESUS.

"He shall see of the travail of His soul and be satisfied" (Isa_53:11).

1. The way into it. Through "the travail of His soul" It was-

1. Soul travail. My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death. The sorrow of His soul was the soul of His sorrow. Being in agony He sweat great drops of blood.

2. Soul travail for others. "He was made sin for us, who knew no sin" (2Co_5:21). "By the obedience of One shall many be made righteous" (Rom_5:19). He suffered for us, the Just for the unjust.

2. The promise of it. "He shall see." He for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross. The purchase of His pain shall be a people saved for His Name. He shall see them-

1. Convicted and converted. Awakened by the Spirit, and turned about by that word which converteth the soul (Psa_19:7). He shall see His seed.

2. Preserved and gathered. Kept by the power of God, and brought into the home of God. After that ye believed ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (Eph_1:13-14). "They shall be Mine when I make up My jewels" (Mal_3:17).

3. The fulness of it "He shall be satisfied." Satisfied with their-

1. Number. "A great multitude which no man can number. All that the Father hath given Me shall come unto Me. Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall yet confess that He is Lord." The kingdoms of this world shall become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ.

2. Character. "A royal priesthood that shall show forth His praises" (1Pe_2:9). He is able to present you faultless before the presence of His glory (Jud_1:24). It should be satisfying now to the suffering servants of the Saviour to know assuredly that in that day He shall be satisfied, although through the wide gate "many have gone in thereat."
