396. God’s Succour

“She is sinking very fast,” was whispered by an attendant in the dying chamber of a godly woman. “No, I am not sinking; I am in the arms of my Saviour,” she said. To have the arm of Jehovah as our protection, and His arms beneath us for our comfort, means many things. Among the many, it means—

1. The deliverances of His grace—Deu_4:34; Deu_5:15; Deu_7:19; Deu_9:29; Deu_11:2; Deu_26:8.

2. The joy of His victories—Psa_98:1.

3. The comfort of His love—Deu_33:27.

4. The attention of His care—Isa_40:11.

5. The upholding of His power—Isa_51:5.

6. The succour of His salvation—Isa_33:2.

7. The assurance of His blessing—Mar_10:16.
