Some Things That Followed Saul’s Conversion–He Sought to Know God’s Will for Him
"And he, trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" (Act_9:6).
This seems to be more than the call of a man seeking the Truth. Perhaps Saul was still groping in the dark, and like the jailer in later months, he merely asked, "What must I do to be saved?" We think, however, that there is a deeper meaning. Saul was convinced. He seemed to have forever settled the matter of allegiance to the Christ. He was ready without any hesitancy or halting to throw out the former things, the letters of authority, the purpose to arrest the saints–he was bending his neck to put it under another yoke. He was swearing allegiance to another Lord–He said, "Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" Certainly all true believers can do no less than that. Saved by Christ, we should at once serve Christ. No task should seem too arduous. We should crown our Saviour as our Lord, and immediately seek to fulfil all His will. If Christ died for us, we should live for Him.
