A Study of Psalms 32
A Threefold Description of Wickedness (Psa_32:1-2).
A Threefold Manifestation of Grace (Psa_32:1-2).
The Threefold Agonies of Sinning (Psa_32:3-4).
The Threefold Marks of Repentance (Psa_32:5).
The Threefold Pledge of Security (Psa_32:7).
The Threefold Promise of Succor (Psa_32:8-9).
The Threefold Song of Praise (Psa_32:11).
The 32d Psalm is usually called the Penitential Psalm. It carries with it the agonies of sinning, and displays the plan of pardon. It also gives promise of renewed strength and finally concludes with a song of praise.
The Psalm falls into seven parts, each part containing three distinct statements. These statements are contingent one upon the other.
A key word in the 32d Psalm, is the concluding part of Psa_32:2. "Blessed is the man * * in whose spirit there is no guile." These words remind one immediately of Nathanael who sat under the fig tree. The Apostle Paul lived such a life. It never pays to sin. Sin separates from God and fills the heart with sorrow.
