Psa_37:17,Psa_37:25,Psa_37:29-30,Psa_37:32,Psa_37:39, The righteous.
The names of the righteous recorded in Psalms 37 also set forth the character of righteousness. This description of the righteous, is, as God sees them, in Christ.
It would be well to note the names of the wicked as given under the previous subject, and the names of the righteous as noted here. That the two classes may be fully realized. "God hath beheld no iniquity in Jacob." The chapter we are studying does not say one good thing of the wicked, and it does not say one evil thing of the righteous. This does not mean that the wicked had no human goodness, nor that the righteous had no carnal badness. It does mean that upon those reckoned as enemies, their sins remain, and to those reckoned as justified and made righteous in the Blood, no sin remains. How glad we should be that our God so accounts those who put their trust in Him!
We stand in His hallowed presence as just and upright, as good and righteous, as holy and perfect. Therefore, God calls us His "saints," or "gracious ones." We stand before God, in Jesus Christ, as white as snow. Our sins have all been transferred to Christ. We have been made the righteousness of God in Him.
Consider the names of the righteous,
They shine with a glory Divine;
The "meek," and the "just," and the "upright,"
The "saints" who with "graciousness" shine.
