0532. The King Judging
The King Judging
"The Lord hath prepared His throne in the Heavens; and His Kingdom ruleth over all" (Psa_103:19).
There may be some who will imagine that this verse gives a spiritual setting to the throne of Christ. That is, some teach that Christ reigns sitting in the Heavens, and not sitting upon the Davidic throne. Of course, God does have a spiritual Kingdom; His throne is over all. Those who are born again are immediately members of His Kingdom, however, the throne of Jesus Christ is an earthly throne. He ascended up and sat down on His Father’s throne, and there He is to-day. He has not yet taken His throne. But the promise is sure: "And the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David."
The key verse does not say that our Lord’s throne is in Heaven. His throne is prepared in the Heavens.
The 7th chapter of Daniel, says: "And they brought Him near before Him. And there was given Him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom." Christ is the Nobleman, Who has gone into the far country "to receive a Kingdom and to return." The investure of the Kingdom takes place in air. The Kingdom is established on the earth.
When our Lord comes again, He comes as King of kings and Lord of lords, then, and only then, will His Kingdom rule over all.
The "little stone" must first descend and fall upon Gentile governments and grind them to powder, before it becomes a kingdom and fills the whole earth.
When Christ has come and established His throne, then His mercy will be "from everlasting to everlasting, upon them that fear Him and His righteousness unto children’s children." Then, will the angels who excel in strength and do His commandments, bless the Lord. Then will all those ministers of His, that do His pleasure, bless the Lord. Then will all His works in all places of His dominion, bless the Lord. "Bless the Lord, O my soul."
