Eze_16:4-14
I. The Condition of the Sinner.
1. UNWASHED. "Neither wast thou washed" (Eze_16:4).
2. UNPITIED. "None eye pitied thee" (Eze_16:5).
3. EXPOSED. "Cast out in the open field" (Eze_16:5).
4. LOATHSOME. "To the loathing of thy person."
5. OPPRESSED. "Trodden underfoot" (Eze_16:6, margin).
II. The Love of the Saviour. Seen in His-
1. COMING NEAR. "I passed thee by" (Eze_16:6).
2. INFINITE COMPASSION. "I looked upon thee; behold thy time was a time of love" (Eze_16:8).
3. WORD OF POWER. "I said unto thee, Live" (Eze_16:8).
III. The Privileges of the Saved.
1. SHELTERED. "I spread My skirt over thee" (Eze_16:8).
2. WASHED. "Then washed I thee" (Eze_16:9).
3. CLOTHED. "I clothed thee" (Eze_16:10).
4. ANOINTED. "I anointed thee" (Eze_16:9).
5. GIRDED. "I girded thee" (service) (Eze_16:10).
6. ADORNED. "I decked thee with ornaments" (Eze_16:11). "Thy beauty perfect through My comeliness" (Eze_16:14).
7. CROWNED. "I put a beautiful crown upon thy head" (Eze_16:12). Saved by grace alone.
