The Rainbow About the Throne

The Rainbow–A Comparison (Rev_4:3).

God Will Not Make a Full End (Heb_12:27-28).

In Wrath–Mercy (Zec_14:16).

A Revived Earth (Isa_35:1-2).

Enduring Peace (Isa_62:7).

The Rainbow’s Call (Rom_10:21).

The Book of Revelation is indeed a revelation and not a hiding. God gives in clear and unmistakable sentences, in signs and in symbols, the unveiling of things yet to come.

There is a day of darkness that lies ahead of this old earth; a time of judgment for the peoples thereof.

The 4th and 5th chapters of Revelation particularly set before us, the throne preparing for judgment. It is the purpose of this lesson to discover the meaning attached to that marvelous rainbow which encircles the throne.

With profit, we may consider the marvelous grouping that gather round the throne. First, there are the four living ones and the four and twenty elders; then, there are the great host of angels, and then (in chap. 7) the multitude of outcomers from the great tribulation. It is a wonderful scene, and in the center is Christ, the One worshiped and adored.

Before the throne was a sea of glass, like unto crystal, and from the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices.

The whole picture is one of preparation for coming judgments. The day of wrath has come and the Lamb is about to punish the earth peoples who have done so wickedly.
