592. “Off”

There Are Many Things the Lord Wants to Put “Off” From Us

1. The offending hand of sin is to be “cut off” (Mat_5:30).

2. The shoes of human irreverence are to be “put off” (Act_7:33).

3. The works of darkness are to be “cast off” (Rom_13:12).

4. The old manner of life is to be “put off” by the child of God (Eph_4:22; Col_3:8-9).

5. Those who trouble the Church of God are to be “cut off” (Gal_5:12).

6. When the Gospel is deliberately refused, we are to “shake off” the dust of the place from our shoes (Mat_10:14).

7. One thing believers should not do, and that is, to “cast off” their “first faith” (1Ti_5:12).
