0656. GOD’S PROMISE TO INQUIRERS.
GOD’S PROMISE TO INQUIRERS.
"Thus saith the Lord God: I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them" (Eze_36:37).
The promises of God are not intended to stifle inquiry. Learn from this-
I. That God Longs to be Inquired Of. "Ye have not, because ye ask not" (Jam_4:2). The prodigal got much by inquiry.
II. That any Man can be an Inquirer. "Men ought always to pray" (Luk_18:1). This door is ever open, and man may do business at any time.
III. That a Man may Inquire about Anything. "In everything by prayer," etc. (Php_4:6).
IV. That Inquirers must come in the Right Way. "Ask in My Name" (Joh_16:26). Israel must approach God through the High Priest. There is but one Mediator.
V. That Inquirers must be Honest in their Inquiry. Questions of mere curiosity are left unanswered. Saul was an anxious inquirer (Act_9:6).
VI. That Honest Inquirers will be Fully Satisfied. "Ask, and ye shall receive. Knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Mat_7:7-8). As Solomon satisfied the Queen of Sheba, so will the Lord grant the desire of your heart (Psa_81:10).
