0672. The Angels of God
The Angels of God
Very few have given much thought to the vital place that angels hold in the ministrations of God. There are both good and bad angels, the angels of God and the angels of the wicked one. Satan was of angelic origin; he was created a peer among the angelic hosts. When he fell, he dragged down with him a great company of angels. No plan of redemption has ever been provided for fallen angels.
The angels of God are pre-eminently associated with God’s coming judgments of wrath against the wicked; they are also the ministers of His loving care to the righteous.
Jesus Christ was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death; man also is now lower than the angels–this is true particularly because Christ was, and saints are now circumscribed by the mortal body. In the resurrection both Christ and the saints who are co-heirs with Him, will be far above angels.
