0675. The Power of Angels
The Power of Angels
"And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses" (2Ki_19:35).
Perhaps the angel spoken of, in this verse, is the Lord Himself; in any case it is a mark of marvelous power. God makes "His angels spirits, and flames of fire, His ministers" (Psa_104:4).
Angels are very prominently connected with the judgments of God. In the tribulation days that lie ahead of this old earth, the days described in the Book of Revelation, the angels are the active agencies, through whom God works out the purposes of His wrath. In all of these acts, angels prove their power.
During the tribulation, there is a battle in Heaven between Michael and his angels, and the devil and his angels, and the angels of God overcome.
Finally, it is an angel who lays hold of the dragon, called the devil and satan, and binds him for a thousand years, and casts him into the pit of the abyss. Thank God, for the power of these angelic hosts.
