The Position of Angels

"Who is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou visitest him? For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels" (Psa_8:4-5).

Angels then are higher, positionally, than man, and, certainly, lower than God. Higher than man because man is circumscribed by the earth ties, lower than God, because they are created of God, and the creature cannot be superior to the Creator.

In Heb_2:6-10, our Key Verse, is quoted concerning Jesus Christ. Thus, even Jesus, in the flesh, was lower than angels, although in His Deity and eternity He was infinitely superior to them.

Angels will be lower than redeemed and glorified man in the ages to come. "Know ye not that saints shall judge angels?" Even now, while superior to man in his subjected state, angels are the servants to men, ministering to them and watching over them.
