The Lord Descends with the Voice of the Archangel

"For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air" (1Th_4:16-17).

From the beginning angels have had a prominent place in the outworkings of the purposes of God. In our Lord’s return, they continue to be in the foreground of His acts. When Christ ascends the angels are with Him, when Christ descends the angels return with Him.
