0758. Satan's Strategies Against the Believer
Satan’s Strategies Against the Believer
Nothing could please the devil more than to have his presence denied. The devil does not mind our calling this "God’s country," so long as the world is lying in his lap, or walking according to his leadership.
Satan was quite willing for Milton to relegate him to hell, so long as he was not there, but was on earth plying his strategies against the children of men.
Satan is happy in being considered a delusion, so long as he is left with a free hand in his deadly work. He knows he is not a delusion, although he is very delusive.
We fear that most Christians, while admitting the fact of a personal devil, are, in reality, but little acquainted with his devices.
We need to know both the power and the methods of our foe, that we may be prepared to meet his attempts against us.
God has given us plain warning. He has said: "Your adversary, the devil, goeth about seeking whom he may devour,"
Satan both accuses God before us, and accuses us before God. We trust that this study will help us to understand somewhat of the methods of the adversary. The different suggestions which follow are distinct from these considered in the preceding study. The other had to do with the great principles employed by satan against the Church as a whole; this has to do with the devices applied against individual believers.
