The God of Peace

"Now the God of peace be with you all" (Rom_15:33).

The God of peace.

The world has many strange and unworthy thoughts of God. The heathen imagines that God is a God of revenge and fitful passions. Many are the weird and gruesome rites that they practice in order to appease their gods many.

The Bible does teach that the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against sin and all unrighteousness; but the Bible does not teach that God is an unmerciful and implacable God Who drives men headlong into damnation.

Our God is a God of peace. He would that all men would be saved. He stands ready to save the vilest of the vile. Between every man and hell God places the sacrificial Lamb.

The United States places on some of its coins both an olive branch and a bunch of arrows. This says to one and all we want peace, we offer peace, but if you refuse a just peace we are ready for war.

Our God is a God of peace. He holds out the olive branch for one and all. This peace is made possible only through the Cross of Christ. God is a God of peace to such an extent that He sent Christ to die, the Just for the unjust, that He might offer peace. To those who spurn His offer of grace and peace, He does not offer the arrows of war. The lake of fire was prepared for the devil and his angels. Man sinned. God offered salvation in Christ. When man refuses Christ and God's proffered peace, he places himself under the arrows of God's wrath.
