THE SHIP WAS BROKEN.

Act_27:40-44.

We may learn from this shipwreck-

1. That there are sunken rocks in the course of life. Unbelief, neglect, love of world.

2. That our plans and purposes may be suddenly broken up. "Rich fool."

3. That unexpected trials and disappointments may be for our good. Paul.

4. That the sight of helplessness and suffering calls forth sympathy and self-sacrifice.

5. That in the presence of a great calamity earthly things lose their value. "Cargo overboard."

6. That the means of salvation may be lightly esteemed. "Broken pieces of the ship."
