3. The Feast of Tabernacles

"And ye shall keep it a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations; ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths" (Lev_23:41-42).

The Feast of Tabernacles was the sixth feast. Following Pentecost came the Feast of Trumpets, which was the type of the recall of the Jews to their own land. This will take place at the coming of the Lord, but the Feast of Tabernacles anticipated the time when the Lord Jesus Christ would dwell among the saints. In Zec_14:16, we read: "And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem, shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of Hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles."

Thus we see that Jesus Christ will reign with His people, He will tabernacle among them. When He comes, satan will be put down, righteousness and peace will prevail, and we will have salvation from sin's overwhelming presence and sway.
