880. “Time” and “Times”
Kronos, rendered “time” (Mat_2:7), “while” (Joh_12:35), “space” (Rev_2:21), “seasons” (Act_20:18), means a set time, a limited or designated period.
1. “Times of restitution” (Act_3:21), or restoration, are coming to Israel.
2. “The time past of our life,” speaks of our sin and folly (1Pe_4:3).
3. “When the fulness of time” had come, Christ appeared to accomplish His redeeming work—Gal_4:4; 1Pe_1:20.
4. “The rest of our time” we should live as becometh believers in Christ (1Pe_1:17; 1Pe_4:2).
5. “In the last time” we are warned that “mockers” shall arise (Jud_1:18).
6. In His grace the Lord gives those who have need to “repent” a certain “space” (time) in which to do it—Rev_2:21.
7. There is a “time” when the Lord will come to reckon with His servants—Mat_25:19.
