0911. The Master's Answer–Born by One Who Is in Heaven
The Master's Answer–Born by One Who Is in Heaven
"Even the Son of Man which is in Heaven" (Joh_3:13, l. c.).
Nicodemus asked how the new birth could be. Christ replied, in substance, "There is One on earth, Who is also in Heaven." That is, there was One on earth, Who manifested the perfect will of the Father in Heaven. God was in Christ and Christ was in God. They were made perfect in one.
Philip said, "Show us the Father." Christ said, "He that hath seen Me, hath seen the Father."
Christ said: "The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of Myself; but the Father."
Christ said: "I do not Mine own will but the Father's."
Christ said, "As the Father hath life in Himself so hath * * the Son."
Christ said, "The Father worketh and I work."
Thus, before Nicodemus, there stood One Who was physically, on earth; and yet in the fullest sense of the word, He was in Heaven.
Jesus Christ was the interpretation of the Father. He was the forthshining of the Father's glory. He was the very expression of the Father's being. He was the Son of God, and God, the Son.
How can a man be born again? He must believe in Christ as the One with the Father. Did not Christ say: "No man cometh unto the Father but by Me"? Did Christ not say: "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life"? Did not Christ also say: "If ye believe not that I am He, ye are yet in your sins"?
Surely, to be born again we must have a right conception of Christ.
