897. “Transgression”

1. The Cause of Captivity. “Carried away… for their transgression” (1Ch_9:1).

2. The Cause of Christ’s Death. “For the transgression of My people was He stricken” (Isa_53:5, Isa_53:8).

3. The Character of Sin. “Sin is the transgression of the law” (1Jn_3:4).

4. The Cause of Punishment. “I will visit their transgression with the rod” (Psa_89:32).
