POISONOUS SELF.

The rattlesnake is well known and justly dreaded as the most venomous and deadly of all reptiles. Dr. Bell has proved that its poison is even secreted after death. Sinful self is the rattlesnake which every Christian has to fear. While we reckon ourselves dead, and have crucified the flesh with its lusts, even while we are dissecting self, we are in danger of being poisoned by it. "Cease from man" (Isa_2:22).
