The Righteous–after Death, What?
When we discuss the position of the dead, whether those in Christ or out of Christ, we have entered into a realm where there is no place for guessing. What either of us might think about it, or what anybody else might think, is not worthy of consideration. Neither would it be worth our while to consider the supposed statements of those who have died and have brought back some message from the dead. All such statements are manufactured on the part of evil spirits who imitate the dead. It is remarkable to notice how little that is really tangible and positive is spoken in spirit seances. The statements are always vague and indefinite, and they bring not real revelation of things beyond.
Job said: "Man dieth and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost and where is he?" The whole world is interested in the answer to this question.
To-day we stand with an open Bible,–the only Book that gives any light concerning what lies on the other side of the grave. May the Lord help us, as we read His Word, to accept it, because it is authoritative and worthy of trust.
