GIFTS NEGLECTED.

It is a well known fact that "cave fishes" are blind. The reason for this, we are told, is "that the continuous disuse of the organs does, in time, react on the nutrition of the parts affected, and, finally, atrophy or disappearance is the result." Darwin confessed that since "his mind seemed to have become a kind of machine for grinding general laws out of large collections of facts, he had lost all taste for poetry or music." This is a law in the spiritual world, as well as in the natural. Stir up the gift that is in thee. If faith is to be nourished and strengthened, and saved from atrophy, it must be exercised.
