1209. The Blood of Jesus Christ, His Son
The Blood of Jesus Christ, His Son
1Jn_1:1-10
The Cross has remained unto this day to the Jew a stumbling-block and to the Gentile foolishness. If the years have marked any change, the Cross is more maligned and hated than ever.
It is true that thousands, yea, millions, have washed their robes and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb and that these truly "glory in the Cross of Christ," yet notwithstanding all of this, the "Blood" is either repulsed as a barbaric conception or else repudiated as an unnecessary appendage to "religion."
Even the supposedly orthodox church has deemed the Blood of Christ as an insufficient atonement and has added variously stated conceptions of good works and good living as a necessary aid to salvation.
We endeavor to-day to call saint and sinner back to the simplicities of the faith once for all delivered–we magnify the Cross.
