One in Omnipotence

"The Lord God omnipotent reigneth" (Rev_19:6).

1. The Father Is Omnipotent

"The power of God" (1Co_2:5).

"The exceeding greatness of His power * * His mighty power" (Eph_1:19).

The power of God is manifested everywhere throughout the universe. There is none who dare lift up the hand against Him. The combined powers of satan, demons and men may be cast down by the breath of the Almighty. "God hath spoken once, twice have I heard this, that power belongeth unto God."

2. The Son Is Omnipotent

"The power of the Lord Jesus Christ" (1Co_5:4).

"Far above all principality, and power" (Eph_1:21).

When the Lord Jesus was upon earth, He had power to still the tempest, to heal the sick, to raise the dead.

The Lord Jesus, ascended and seated at the right hand of the Father, is omnipotent. Seated above principalities and powers, He is saying unto His sent-ones: "All power is given unto Me," there is nothing which is impossible with God, there is nothing impossible with the Lord Jesus Christ, therefore the Lord Jesus Christ is God.

3. The Spirit Is Omnipotent

"The power of the Spirit of God" (Rom_15:19).

"The demonstration of the Spirit and of power" (1Co_2:4).

The Holy Spirit is one with the Trinity in omnipotence–He doeth all things which God doeth.

When saints go forth in the service of the Lord, they are to go in the power of the Spirit. This was true of Stephen, He was filled with the Holy Ghost; as a result, he was filled with power. This was true of Paul. He said, "I came unto you in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power."

Christians today need not become discouraged; because they are panoplied with the power of the Triune God.

Again we assert that our God is one Lord, because Father, Son and Spirit are omnipotent.
