Three Distinct Persons Are Seen in a Message On Ministry

"That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the Gospel of God, * * acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost" (Rom_15:16).

Paul, in the Spirit, is giving his message to the Romans. He writes boldly, putting them in mind of the grace that God had given unto him. He tells the Romans that he was a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles; he tells them that he was ministering the Gospel of God; he tells them that his purpose was that the offering up of the Gentiles might become acceptable, being sanctified in the Holy Ghost.

It becomes more and more wonderful to us as we continue the study of this lesson, to see how often, in brief and succinct statements, each person of the Godhead is mentioned.

In this the inspiration of Scripture is plainly established. The distinctive ministry of the Father, of the Son and of the Spirit is brought in-time after time, without any confusion in the thought. Nothing is said which mitigates in any way the fact that our God is one Lord; and yet everything is made plain that our God is one Lord, manifested in three persons. In this passage above the words "the Gospel of God," "the minister of Jesus Christ" and "acceptable to the Holy Ghost" declare this three-fold manifestation.
