Three Distinct Persons Are Seen in Paul's Preaching at Corinth

"Declaring unto you the testimony of God.

"For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified * * and my speech and my preaching was * * in demonstration of the Spirit and of power" (1Co_2:1-4).

In the letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul speaks of the testimony of God, and of faith in the power of God; he speaks also of knowing the Son; and then he speaks of preaching in the demonstration of the Spirit.

There is no doubt but that the Holy Spirit is God. Paul preached in the Spirit and power, and not in man's wisdom, because he desired the faith of the people to be placed in the power of God. The Spirit therefore was very God.

There is no doubt that Christ was God, this was the sum and substance of "the testimony of God" which Paul preached.

However, God the Spirit was not God the Son, for God the Son was crucified, not God the Spirit. Neither was God the Spirit God the Father, for the Gospel or testimony of God the Father was proclaimed by God the Spirit.

Again we find one God–three persons.
