18 NEVER TAKE YOUR MATE FOR GRANTED

18 NEVER TAKE YOUR MATE FOR GRANTED

“My wife always cooks breakfast for me,” boasted the husband.

“Do you thank her every time?” I asked.

“Of course not; that would be silly. She has always done it,” he replied.

Whatever your mate does for you needs to be noticed with a smile, a grateful remark or a kind action in return. It’s so easy to take one another for granted. But doing so reveals an ungrateful heart.

Jesus was an expert at taking notice of people. He particularly noticed those who served and ministered to Him. You can do the same.

Husbands should not take for granted clean toilets, ironed shirts, laundry, cooked meals, etc. Wives should not take for granted yard work, washed cars, trash taken out, etc.

Don’t get this wrong. I’m not suggesting that there are typical things a husband or wife does. I’m only suggesting that whatever is done as an expression of love and service should never go unnoticed.

Try this: Begin noticing every expression of love your mate says or does.

Find creative ways to say thank you like writing with a marker on the mirror in the bathroom your expression of gratitude. Leave thank you notes in unusual places like luggage and laundry.

And for this we are very, very grateful to you.
