28 FAST AND PRAY BEFORE LAYING ON HANDS.

28 FAST AND PRAY BEFORE LAYING ON HANDS.

Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

     —Acts 13:3

Laying on hands imparts and conveys the Spirit and blessing of God. Don’t lay hands on others lightly and without first asking the Spirit what you are to pray and say.

Laying on hands ordains and commissions. Without knowing the Spirit’s direction, you cannot know where to send or what mission is being commissioned.

Laying on hands heals and restores. What is it that the Spirit wishes to heal? What’s obvious to one’s senses or reason may not be what the Spirit desires to touch and make whole.

So fast before laying on hands.

Fast to receive spiritual food. Fast to set aside the flesh’s desires. Flesh to avoid manipulating, intimidating or dominating the one receiving the laying on of hands.

So pray before laying on hands.

Pray to have the mind of Christ. Pray to stir up and emblazon the gifts within you. Pray to become a vessel used of the Spirit. Pray to hear the Spirit’s voice. Pray to release whatever the Spirit desires.

Fast and fast before laying on hands so that you may only be the conduit through whom the Spirit’s power and anointing flows.

Spirit of the living God,

I pray that You would lead me to lay hands on the sick that they may recover, on the bound that they may be loosed, on the blind that they may see. Amen.
