44 PRAY BECAUSE GOD IS FAITHFUL.

Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness.

If prayer depended on our faithfulness, then nothing would ever be accomplished by prayer. Often …

     •     We forget to pray.

     •     We are too tired to pray.

     •     We lack the conviction and commitment to follow through on what we have prayed.

Pray works not because we are faithful but because He is faithful. In His faithfulness, our prayers get answered. Because of His righteousness, our prayers enter into the Holy of Holies.

When you are unfaithful, the enemy will tempt you with these thoughts:

     •     You have failed in prayer so God will abandon you.

     •     You lack strength so you’re too weak to arouse God’s attention.

     •     You vacillate too much; no sense in trying to focus or center on God.

But our loving Father says to you:

     •     I’m always available even when you’re not.

     •     I’m always strong even when you’re not.

     •     I’m always focused on you even when you can’t focus on me.

So, what to do? Pray. Prayerlessness allows the enemy to rob you of the very thing God wants to give you. Only come to the Father and ask.

Lord,

I thank you for your faithfulness. How I need You. Your strength. Your righteousness. Your availability. Thank You, Lord, for always being there for me. Amen.
